Each partner brings unique expertise and resources to collaboratively address the challenges of integrating AI, automation, and human skills in the manufacturing sector. Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI), through the Management Engineering department pools expertise of the Manufacturing group, focused on Advanced Manufacturing Systems, Manufacturing Operations, Human Centric Manufacturing, Cyber-Physical Systems and Innovation research (e.g., Design thinking). POLIMI gained experience by coordinating more that 20 EU projects.
Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is Norway’s main institution and participates in this project with the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering-Production Management group, focusing on theory, models, systems and solutions to improve production and logistics within the industrial value chain. The group uses Logistics 4.0 lab, focused on human centricity with traditional production and logistics systems.
SINTEF (Norway) is one of Europe’s largest research institutes, founded in 1950. SINTEF research is focused on cutting edge technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, including focus on discriminatory bias, explainable AI, hybrid modelling, machine learning, modelling, analysis and artificial intelligence.
LMS is University of Patras’ (Greece) research group focused on research and development in cutting edge scientific and technological fields. LMS is involved in a number of EU research funded project and with European industrial partners. LMS developed the Learning Factory concept.
CHALMERS is a leading Swedish University in the field of technology, engineering and social science participating in the project with the division Production Systems, Industrial and Materials Science-Human and Automation Optimization group. The research focuses on industrial production systems, acquiring knowledge about both the system as a whole and its separate components, especially cognitive and physical automation to support future production systems, developing methods, tools (e.g.,level of competence, competence matrixes)to optimally match tasks and resources. CHALMERS involves SIILAB, Swedish test bed for industrial digitization and the jobs of the future.
UNITN (Italy) is participating with the School of International Studies, which focuses its research on economics and management, implementing theoretical, empirical research, quantitative to experimental methods, computer simulations, business ethics, firm behaviour, household and labour economics, norms and economic policies.
RUG is participating with the Faculty of Economics and Business (Netherlands), and its focus research is on digitalisation and artificial intelligence, leadership and governance, future prosperity and the use of mixed human-AI/robotics technologies to increase technology acceptance within the working scenarios, while improving working condition.
MADE is the Italian Competence Center and supports digital and sustainable transformation of manufacturing industry. MADE provides education and training, and testing facilities, with 6 manufacturing scenario and more than 30 digital tech use cases.
DEGV – TKNIKA is integrated to the Vice Ministery of Vocational Education and Training, Department of Education of the Basque Government (Spain). It provides applied research and innovation services and support to VET centers and companies through six areas: technological innovation and innovation systems, complexity management, learning and high performance, internationalisation, applied innovation in strategic settings, biosciences and sustainability.
CECIMO (Belgium) is the European Association of Manufacturing Technologies. It gathers 15 national associations, which represent approximately 1,500 industrial enterprises in Europe (over 80% SMEs). It covers 97% of the total machine tool production in Europe and about 1/3 worldwide. It accounts for approximately 150,000 employees and a turnover of around 25.3 billion euros in 2022.
EUD (Belgium) is an EU organisation representing Deaf people at European level and it is composed of National Deaf Associations from the 27 EU Member States, establishing and maintaining EU level dialogue with its relative institutions and officials, in consultation and co-operation with its member. EUD is member of the European Disability Forum, is a regional cooperating Member of the World Federation of the Deaf, has participatory status with Council of Europe.
SUSTENTO brings together 55 organisations of people with disabilities, thus forming a direct representation of more than 50 000 people with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses. The organisation was founded in 2002 and is the only organisation representing the Latvian non-governmental sector in disability policy in the European Union, promoting respect for human rights in accordance with international law.
Martel Innovate (Switzerland) is a digital innovation agency with almost 30 years’ experience in technology transfer, with over 100 cutting-edge EU-funded projects. Martel offers support in strategic communication, marketing and provides technical knowledge for AI development.
INAIL (Italy) is a non-economic public body that manages compulsory insurance against accidents at work and professional diseases. INAIL carries out research activities, develops control and verification methodologies regarding prevention and safety for people with disabilities.
