IFAC-konferansen om produksjonsmodellering, ledelse og kontroll (MIM 2025) organiserte SkillAIbility og X-HuLog4.0-prosjektet en spesiell sesjon som br\u00f8t med konvensjonen. Med tittelen \u201dSunset of the human-only \u00e6ra \u2013 a new dawn for human-AI industry\u201d fant dialogen sted 1. juli 2025, fra 22:15 til 23:15, i det velkjente rommet Andromeda, og ga deltakerne et symbolsk syn p\u00e5 solnedgangen, og kanskje et vendepunkt i industrihistorien.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I stedet for \u00e5 v\u00e6re vertskap for et panel eller levere presentasjoner, la arrang\u00f8rene til rette for en \u00e5pen diskusjon blant en mangfoldig gruppe deltakere, forskere, teknologer, l\u00e6rere og studenter. Samtalen fokuserte p\u00e5 den utviklende dynamikken mellom mennesker og kunstig intelligens i samdrevne produksjons- og logistikkmilj\u00f8er.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Teknologi som verkt\u00f8y, ikke som erstatning<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diskusjonen ble startet av Dr. Sotirios Panagou (NTNU), som innrammet sesjonen innenfor den bredere konteksten av SkillAIbilitys oppdrag: muliggj\u00f8re inkluderende, etisk og b\u00e6rekraftig teknologisk innovasjon. Han minnet deltakerne p\u00e5 at AI ikke b\u00f8r sikte p\u00e5 \u00e5&nbsp;<em>erstatte<\/em>&nbsp;mennesker, men i stedet for \u00e5&nbsp;<em>st\u00f8tte<\/em>&nbsp;og&nbsp;<em>utvidelse<\/em>&nbsp;sine evner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mange deltakere ekko dette perspektivet, og talte for AI-utvidet beslutningstaking i stedet for fullt automatiserte systemer. Eksempler varierte fra industriell robotikk til akademiske innstillinger, hvor AI allerede bist\u00e5r med repeterende oppgaver, slik at menneskelige arbeidere og l\u00e6rere kan fokusere p\u00e5 aktiviteter med h\u00f8yere verdi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tillit, \u00e5penhet og menneskelig kontroll<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et tilbakevendende tema i \u00f8kten var tillit, spesielt hvordan man bygger og vedlikeholder det i systemer der AI spiller en operasjonell rolle. Deltakerne ba om gjennomsiktig, forklarlig AI, spesielt i milj\u00f8er med h\u00f8y innsats der menneskeliv eller levebr\u00f8d er i fare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Metaforen om \u00abden store r\u00f8de knappen\u00bb dukket opp gjentatte ganger, og symboliserte behovet for at mennesker beholder kontrollen i kritiske \u00f8yeblikk. Deltakerne advarte om at systemer uten klare feilsikringer risikerer \u00e5 bli ikke bare farlige, men sosialt destabiliserende.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Det var enighet om at mennesker i siste instans m\u00e5 v\u00e6re ansvarlige for resultatene av AI-drevne prosesser, b\u00e5de i industrien og i samfunnet bredere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Human-sentrisk design og inkludering<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flere bidrag fokuserte p\u00e5 hvordan man implementerer menneske-sentriske designprinsipper i AI-systemer. Dette inkluderer \u00e5 involvere brukere fra begynnelsen av utviklingsprosessen, tydelig dokumentere datakilder og sikre at beregninger som&nbsp;<em>velv\u00e6re<\/em>&nbsp;og&nbsp;<em>tillit<\/em>&nbsp;vurderes ved siden av&nbsp;<em>effektivitet<\/em>&nbsp;og&nbsp;<em>Produksjon<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En foredragsholder fremhevet hvordan SkillAIbility st\u00f8tter AI-verkt\u00f8y for d\u00f8ve eller h\u00f8rselshemmede, noe som viser at AI kan styrke inkludering n\u00e5r det brukes ansvarlig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diskusjonen bemerket ogs\u00e5 at yngre generasjoner m\u00e5 utdannes ikke bare i hvordan man bruker AI, men hvordan man gj\u00f8r det ansvarlig. Flere deltakere pekte p\u00e5 viktigheten av \u00e5 l\u00e6re elevene \u00e5 kritisk evaluere AI-genererte utganger, og ekko behovet for en \"ansvarlig bruker\" for \u00e5 matche ansvarlig design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Den bredere samfunnsutfordringen<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Etter hvert som samtalen ble dypere, vendte fokuset seg mot de sosio\u00f8konomiske implikasjonene av AI-revolusjonen. Deltakerne uttrykte bekymring for at, som AI og robotikk flytte inn i flere domener, selv h\u00f8yt kvalifiserte white-collar jobber blir s\u00e5rbare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dette f\u00f8rte til en kraftfull refleksjon: Hvis det ikke lenger er behov for mennesker i store deler av \u00f8konomien, hvem vil da delta i samfunnet som forbrukere, skapere eller borgere?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et viktig budskap dukket opp: Samtalen rundt AI er ikke bare teknisk, det er politisk, \u00f8konomisk og etisk. Det var enighet i salen om at politikerne m\u00e5tte involveres i disse diskusjonene fra starten av. Som en av talerne sa: \u00abHvis vi ikke inkluderer dem, risikerer vi \u00e5 lage briljante teknologier uten rammer for deres ansvarlige utplassering.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Revolusjoner, r\u00f8de knapper og ansvar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gjennom hele sesjonen trakk deltakerne paralleller mellom dagens AI-transformasjon og fortidens industrielle revolusjoner. Mens revolusjoner uunng\u00e5elig bringer forstyrrelser, var tonen til slutt h\u00e5pefull og konstruktiv.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En av deltakerne tilb\u00f8d en overbevisende metafor: Akkurat som industrimaskiner n\u00e5 kommer med en r\u00f8d n\u00f8dstoppknapp, m\u00e5 vi ogs\u00e5 bygge sikkerhet, etikk og inkludering i AI-systemer fra begynnelsen. En annen bemerket at mens vi kanskje ikke er i stand til \u00e5 stoppe fremdriften til AI, kan og b\u00f8r vi lede sin bane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Konklusjon: Design med hensikt<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abSunset of the Human-Only Era\u00bb-sesjonen var mer enn bare en diskusjon, det var en demonstrasjon av den medskapende, reflekterende og etiske tankegangen som prosjekter som SkillAIbility har som m\u00e5l \u00e5 fremme.
