SUMMARY:World Manufacturing Forum 2025
DESCRIPTION:World Manufacturing Forum: “Key Enabling Technologies for the Future of Manufacturing: Roadmaps & Platforms” \nThe 2025 World Manufacturing Forum continues its successful track record for over a decade\, having annually brought together global policy experts\, industrial leaders\, eminent academics\, and research innovators to address challenges and discuss trends that are shaping the global manufacturing landscape. \nOver the years\, the World Manufacturing Forum has provided unique insights into the future of manufacturing from a global perspective\, exploring several key elements essential for driving competitiveness based on innovation and resilience\, as well as ensuring the sustainability of factories and supply chains of the future. From new digital and green workforce skills development strategies to wise adoption approaches of advanced manufacturing technologies based on artificial intelligence\, robotics and automation\, and extended realities to the embracement of innovative business and operating models\, the World Manufacturing Forum and its annual report have stayed true to their mission of identifying and prioritising key actions for governments and industries to ensure the triple top line sustainability of manufacturing company and their supply chains with positive social\, environmental\, and economic outcomes that benefit the prosperity of people and planet. \nThe 2025 World Manufacturing report titled “Key Enabling Technologies for the Future of Manufacturing: Roadmaps & Platforms” will examine a range of core technologies that can enhance the productivity\, efficiency\, resiliency\, and sustainability of manufacturing and supply chain operations in light of challenging operating environments. The annual report will explore the strategic role of Key Enabling Technologies (KETs)\, such as advanced materials\, additive and hybrid manufacturing\, big data analytics and artificial intelligence\, digital twins and extended realities\, robotics and automation\, and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) in driving the next generation of industrial transformations. Moreover\, it will provide a critical analysis of global roadmaps and technology platforms\, highlighting the strategic pathways for developing and adopting KETs together with the development of the requisite skills and operating models to leverage these technologies in favour of building smart and sustainable factories\, resilient supply chains\, and a skilled workforce. Additionally\, the report will examine the policy frameworks\, investment trends\, and cross-sector collaborations necessary to accelerate the adoption of KETs for a more sustainable and thriving future. By identifying key challenges and opportunities\, the 2025 World Manufacturing report will offer insights into how industries can leverage different KETs to achieve a competitive advantage in an increasingly uncertain and volatile global manufacturing landscape. \nBy embracing the right KETs\, the factories and supply chains of the future will be ready to face any challenges ahead\, including managing disruptions from geopolitical tensions\, climate change\, and cyber threats\, while improving their manufacturing competitiveness.

SUMMARY:European Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the European Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025\, a landmark event uniting policymakers\, organisations\, and persons with disabilities to advance disability inclusion and equality across Europe. This year\, we will explore the path toward a fair\, resilient\, and inclusive Union through three strategic panels\, each addressing the critical challenges and opportunities shaping the rights and daily realities of persons with disabilities. It is a unique moment to share perspectives\, exchange best practices\, and ensure no one is left behind in Europe’s social and economic future. \nPanel 1: Forging Ahead: The Next Chapter in implementing the Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2021-2030 will delve into how the EU and its Member States can further advance the implementation of the Strategy for the rights of persons with disabilities\, ensuring it translates into tangible improvements in its 8 areas including accessibility\, independent living\, and equal participation. Speakers will share success stories featuring results achieved and discuss the challenges that remain\, while exploring future action for making the rights of persons with disabilities a reality across Europe. \nPanel 2: Funding the Union of Equality: towards a Disability-Inclusive EU budget will examine how EU financial instruments have driven and can continue to drive real change for persons with disabilities\, for example by ensuring that accessibility and inclusion are systematically integrated into EU funding. The discussion will address how EU funds including cohesion policy\, social funds\, and other EU instruments can align with the goals of the Strategy for the Rights of Persons with disabilities. \nPanel 3: Preparedness and Crisis management inclusive of Persons with Disabilities will focus on how the EU and Member States can ensure persons with disabilities are included in emergency preparedness and crisis management\, building on the lessons learned from recent crises. Speakers will highlight among others the need for accessible early warning systems\, inclusive civil protection measures\, and the active involvement of persons with disabilities in planning and response efforts to ensure resilience\, safety\, and equal protection for all during emergencies. \nOn the second day\, the conference will start with the Access City Award 2026 ceremony\, where the winner of the 2026 Access City Award will be revealed\, along with the runners-up and Special Mentions. This year\, the Commission intends to award a Special Mention on Accessibility in Housing. The EU Jury may decide to award other Special Mentions to cities for their outstanding accessibility work on a specific area. \nFor more information\, please visit the European Commission webpage.

SUMMARY:TechConnect Stakeholder Conference
DESCRIPTION:The TechConnect Consortium is inviting fellow researchers\, practitioners\, hospital and healthcare partners and policy makers to join them in Utrecht as the team celebrates its midpoint on the journey. \n\n\n\nThe TechConnect team seeks to share the initial findings from their ambitious research that has observed over 9 months\, the use of advanced digital technologies across 12 case studies in 4 hospital sites. It looks to explore the consequences for the future of work\, the better development of advanced digital technologies and the practical steps that organisations can take to ensure a better alignment with humans and the systems. \n\n\n\nWe will invite similar initiatives to present and contrast their experiences and provide a forum for exploring how the absorptive capacity of teams for an ever-complex relationship with technologies can drive better outcomes for all. We also invite attendees to see first-hand how technologies are transforming healthcare and healthcare workers.
